With hundreds of antagonists set loose, the sixth season’s finale has heralded the arrival of a final conflict. And so, we’re all eagerly waiting on My Hero Academia season 7 to know what happens next. But when to expect the seventh season?
If you’re here to find that out, keep reading, as this article will discuss everything we know about the seventh season of My Hero Academia anime!!
Based on Kōhei Horikoshi’s manga series, My Hero Academia anime began with a bang. Within a few months, the anime’s hype grew to the point that Studio Bones renewed the series for a second season.
My Hero Academia season 2 broke all records of viewership, which began an exciting cycle where Studio Bones kept renewing the anime each year.
This consecutive trail of successes can be explained in terms of the series’ superhero, fantasy, and action tropes. But its unique take on the superhero trope makes it stand out among a pool of anime titles in similar genres.
The series doesn’t just explore superpowers or “quirks.” Instead, the anime delves into how heroes are shaped by ideologies. So, a hero may be someone who saves another person. But if the intention is purely for adulation, that hero is probably not worthy of the title of a ‘Hero.’
However, if someone saves another person by killing others, would that be considered heroic or evil?
So, it’s no wonder Studio Bones renewed My Hero Academia for a seventh season immediately after the sixth season’s finale aired. But we’re all wondering what the upcoming season’s release date is!
My Hero Academia Season 7 Release Date
Though Studio Bones has given the green light to the seventh season, there’s no official release date for My Hero Academia season 7. As fans, we all want the anime to come out as early as possible, but we cannot expect the anime before Spring 2024.
The reason why I’ve mentioned next year is partially because My Hero Academia season 6 concluded in March 2023. After all, most studios take at least one year before releasing another anime season.
But it’s also because Studio Bones has a jam-packed schedule for the year.
Earlier, the studio released Bungo Stray Dogs season 4 and is currently busy releasing Bungo Stray Dogs season 5. But the studio has already scheduled Metallic Rouge for 2024. Meanwhile, the studio has also declared SK8 the Infinity season 2 and My Hero Academia season 7. But it’s yet to announce their release schedules.
So, Studio Bones won’t be able to work on the seventh season of My Hero Academia anime before 2024. However, all this is a mere assumption, and we’ll know more in the coming months as new announcements are made.
But it’s been months since My Hero Academia was greenlit for another season. So, you may want to know if there’s a trailer for the upcoming season!
My Hero Academia Season 7 Trailer:
On March 25th, 2023, the production decision for My Hero Academia’s seventh season was announced through a short PV.
While this teaser doesn’t give much detail about the upcoming season, it certainly promises an exciting, action-packed season. As soon as an official trailer for the seventh season is released, I’ll update this section!
As you’re interested in My Hero Academia season 7, I assume you’ve thoroughly watched and enjoyed the previous seasons. But I’ll give you a quick review in case you read this article after a long time.
What Happened So Far in My Hero Academia Anime?
Over the years, My Hero Academia has come a long way. Izuku Midoriya, who was once rejected for his quirklessness, is now the number one target for his powers.
We’ve also seen Izuku manifest quirks from One for All’s previous owners.
In My Hero Academia season 6, Stain reminds All Might that he wasn’t a hero for his powers but for his ability to inspire others. And then, he bestows All Might with the data disc from Tartarus’ records. Meanwhile, Izuku’s friends convince him to return to the U.A., where he relaxes for the first time in months.
Later, All Might, Naomasa, and the Police Force decode the data disc.
The information from the disc reveals that All For One was using radio waves to communicate with his consciousness within Shigaraki’s body. But they may be too late to find that out as Shigaraki’s body will be complete within the next three days.
This means a massive conflict will soon be upon them as hundreds of villains follow All For One’s commands. And so, All Might requests all the world’s heroes to come for help.
However, most world governments don’t respond because of their internal problems.
But in My Hero Academia season 6 finale, America’s Number 1 Hero – Star and Stripe, is shown en route to Japan for her ‘Master.’
What to Expect From My Hero Academia Season 7?
We can expect the seventh season of My Hero Academia to pick from where the previous season concluded. If that happens, the first episode of Season 7 will feature manga chapter 329 from the “Star and Stripe Arc” in “Final Act Saga.”
And so, the seventh season will premiere with the exciting battle between Tomura Shigaraki and “the world’s strongest woman,” aka “Star and Stripe.”
But the Paranormal Liberation Front has several villains working across the globe. So, All For One’s influence will gain momentum in the next season. We may also learn why ‘All For One’ is obsessed with obtaining the ‘One For All’ quirk.
We can also anticipate young heroes taking the lead in the incoming conflict.
Since the “Star and Stripe Arc” is only 6 chapters long, the seventh season will also cover “U.A. Traitor Arc,” where Class 1-A will finally find the traitor leaking information to the League of Villains.
But the “U.A. Traitor arc” consists of just 8 chapters. And so, the coming season may also cover a few chapters from the “Final War Arc.”
This ‘Final War Arc’ is still ongoing in the manga, and it contains around 56 chapters at the time of writing this.
As most seasons of My Hero Academia are 25 episodes each, we can also expect that My Hero Academia season 7 will likely contain 25 episodes as well.
But that’s a mere assumption, as Studio Bones has not announced any information in this regard. Also, we still don’t know about the pacing of the upcoming season, so we cannot say for sure how much content will be covered.
My Hero Academia Season 7 Cast & Crew Details
So far, Studio Bones has unveiled Romi Park as the newest cast member voicing Star and Stripe. At the same time, no other announcements were made about the cast and crew.
But the studio has been contracting the same staff for all previous seasons. And so we also anticipate the team from the sixth season to return for the seventh season.
If that happens, Kenji Nagasaki and Masahi Mukai will be the chief director and director, respectively. Also, Hitomi Odashima and Yoshihiko Umakoshi will return as character designers.
