Classroom of the Elite season 3 is one of the most-anticipated anime series at present. After all, the previous season had more questions than answers. But when is the third season coming out? If you’re here to find that out, keep reading as we’ll talk about everything we know about season 3 of Classroom of the Elite anime!!
From Shogo Kinusaga’s light novel series, “Classroom of the Elite,” the anime began with a bang. The excitement instantly grew to such a point that fans began demanding another season as the first season concluded.
This success had a lot to do with the series’ already-established fanbase. But it’s also because Classroom of the Elite presents a unique plot in the high school anime genre.
After all, a typical high school series features an introverted character falling in love. So, the entire plot revolves around that character trying to confess his/her feelings. Such an anime often involves love triangles, misunderstandings, and coming-of-age tropes.
In contrast, Classroom of the Elite features a school system where academic excellence is not everything. Instead, winning means also standing on the top of the social hierarchy. The premise is that graduates of this school will grow fit for practical life.
However, the protagonist has shown zero interest in romance or academic achievements. Instead, he’s shown to be a manipulative man who sees everyone as a tool.
Still, it remains a mystery why he does anything. The MC has been intentionally scoring low grades to barely survive expulsion. But if he’s not here for love or grades, why has he joined this school in the first place?
This is exactly how the anime has pulled off a psychological thriller with such a simple plot.
So, it’s no surprise that the series creators renewed it simultaneously for a second and third seasons. The second season of Classroom of the Elite concluded in September 2022. Since then, we’re all been waiting for the third season, and it’s not too far off!
Classroom of the Elite Season 3 Release Date
Earlier, the third season of Classroom of the Elite was scheduled for 2023. However, the press release from July 22 announced a delay in the animation schedule. According to the latest information, Classroom of the Elite Season 3 is set to come out in January 2024.
While the precise release date is still unknown, we can expect more announcements in the coming months, as 2024 is just a few months away.
The update was followed by MF Bunko J’s live-stream event, which released a key visual for the third season. As this key visual featured Arisu Sakayanagi and Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, we can expect the two characters to play a significant role in the upcoming season.
Anyway, since you’re here looking for the release date of Classroom of the Elite’s third season, I take it that you’d want to know what else to expect, like the plot!
What to Expect From Classroom of the Elite Season 3?
So far, Classroom of the Elite has shown significant developments on several fronts. As promised, Kiyotaka tells Suzune that her brother wants her in the student council.
At the same time, Kei discovers that she has romantic feelings for Kiyotaka. But she ends up witnessing Kiyotaka rejecting Maya by stating he doesn’t love anyone.
Even so, when Kei offers him a Christmas gift, Kiyotaka reciprocates this gesture by giving her cold medicine. Also, he calls her by her given name for the first time – so Kiyotaka may be developing feelings for Kei.
But Classroom of the Elite season 2 finale concluded with Arisu telling Kiyotaka that she knows him from the white room. She also reveals that she has plans to take him down. But Kiyotaka asks if she can even pull that move.
And so, we can expect Classroom of the Elite season 3 to pick the series from exactly where the second season ended. If that happens, the first episode of the coming season will begin with “Mixed Training Arc” from the 8th volume of the light novel.
And so, the series will feature students from first, second, and third years traveling to a mountain range and surviving the terrain. They will be divided into groups according to their grade and gender. But the leader of the group scoring the lowest will be expelled.
As the first two seasons had a total of 25 episodes, we can expect the third season of Classroom of the Elite anime to contain 12-13 episodes as well. If that’s the case, the incoming season will cover beyond the 8th light volume, i.e., the 9th and 10th light novel volumes.
The 9th volume features Sakayanagi Arisu spreading rumors about Ichinose’s past. And so, we may see Kiyotaka taking on the fight on her behalf.
Meanwhile, the 10th light novel volume features the next major arc of the series titled “The Class Poll.” The arc will include a special test where each class will decide on one person who will get expelled. And so, we’ll likely see several traitors and conspiracies in the coming season.
Classroom of the Elite Season 3 Trailer:
So far, Studio Lerche hasn’t released an exclusive trailer for Classroom of the Elite’s third season. However, Kadokawa greenlit the series for a second and a third season through a single PV released on March 6, 2022.
This short trailer doesn’t give any details about the plot for the season 3 release. But it does hint at the series’ cast and crew.

Classroom of the Elite Season 3 Cast & Crew Details
Currently, Kadokawa hasn’t released any official details about Classroom of the Elite season 3’s cast and crew. But the third season was greenlit alongside the second season. So, it seems Studio Lerche will contract the staff from the previous season.

Is Classroom of the Elite Manga & Light Novel Finished?
No, the Classroom of the Elite manga series and light novels are not complete. Also, we still don’t know for sure when the series will come to an end.
Shogo Kinugasa has completed a part of the Classroom of the Elite light novels that began in 2015. These consist of 11 volumes and 3 short stories. But these novels only cover as much as the first year of the Classroom of the Elite series.
Meanwhile, its sequel, titled “Classroom of the Elite: Year 2,” is ongoing and contains 9 light novel volumes with two short stories.
But Yuyu Ichino is adapting Classroom of the Elite manga, which currently contains over 80 chapters compiled in 12 volumes. Meanwhile, Shia Sasane is adapting Classroom of the Elite: Year 2, which presently consists of only 2 tankōbon volumes.
However, illustrator Sakagaki has completed the spin-off manga series “Classroom of the Elite: Horikita.” It revolves around Suzune Horikita and contains 12 chapters compiled in 2 tankōbon volumes.
